NTLK NASP Update #5 - more info...

Hi everybody!

Well, after talking to Dave I can safely say... that yes, Mr. Zac is
'involved' with dave design... but I did promise Dave that I wouldn't post
any details. As for his involvement with NASP - Zac, please give me SOME
respect and let me handle taking down ideas, suggestions, etc., and please
don't tell people about a $50 price tag when NO ONE knows what the price
will be when/if this project is green-lighted by Dave.

(On a personal note - Zac, I've got nothing against you at all, but I would
appreciate you letting me be the middleman between all the interested people
and Dave @ dave design - having more than one person releasing info makes
this whole project a lot harder to control, since people get conflicting
information! and this has already happened with your 'price estimates'!)

Moving on - Dave, myself, and a good number of people on the NASP Update
list and here on NewtonTalk feel that only producing the three main parts
(front, back, lid) is a good idea - it gives a nice silver/black(green,
WHATEVER) contrast, and makes it cheaper to produce and therefore, purchase.
If this ends up being what is done, Dave is considering making the design
'open source' ala Linux, so that any equipped shop will be able to make thse
extra parts or indeed, the entire shebang.

Of course, it's all up to Dave the magic man. =)

Someone posted the idea for making a 'snap-on' case... it was already
responded to on NewtonTalk, but here it is again in case you missed it:
This would be WAY TO HEAVY and BIG.

Anyway, if you've e-mailed me an idea or suggestion, I HAVE gotten it, I
just haven't gotten a chance to write back. PLEASE keep those ideas
coming!!!

Thanks to everyone for their support! Keep spreading the word!
