Oh man...I hate to tell you this...but this is a bad
one!
There are a few untested theories on ribbon cable
repair...but none of them have been fully tested.
One method is to solder a small wire across the gap.
This is highly dependant on your solder skills and the
fact that the metal strip is accessible and
solderable.
If it's just a scratch, and not cut through completly,
a solder brider may fill in the gap.
I've had some success (mainly with cables that never
NEVER move with rear window defogger repair liquid.
You gotta "glop" it on thick and put on several coats.
After that, cover it liberaly with some locktite (I
forget the number, but it stays flexible...It's in the
garage and I don't want to wake the wife!)
Otherwise, a full cable replacement is
needed...unfortunatly, in this case, not possible.
