Actually, I thought the issue was that Fodor (sp?) stopped offering the Newt
package containing the NIV. Don't they still offer it for the Palm? It
sounded to me more like they simply got rid of all their Newt operations
and, since the RSV and KJV are public domain, it costs them nothing to
simply leave them online, available as-is. With the NIV, though, they can't
do that, because of the copyright issue. They made a business decision that
they can't sustain the mechanics of continuing to offer it for sale when
there's admittedly only a handful of folks who might be buying it.

I'm not sure I understand why it can't be sold robotically, but anyway,
that's my understanding of the situation.
