But it does. I've done D&D between my ftp programs and the finder ever since
my very beginnings on the web. I first did it with AOL client 2.6 or 2.7.
Sheesh! Even AOL does it! Every ftp client I've ever used has allowed
dragging and dropping into and out of the app. Right now, I'm using
VicomSoft's client, and it does it too. So d&d does work with ftp. Now, as
to having an ftp server mount on the desktop, it's like what you have, Ed.
You have to have the server set up to allow it. If it is, then you can mount
it. The iDisk technology is available for others. It's not unique to iDisk.
I haven't tried entering the ip address for a standard ftp server yet, but I
wonder if you could do it that way. I know that you can use the Network
Browser app that Apple provides to display ftp servers, and I presume that
you could create an alias on the desktop for one from there. I haven't tried
that yet either. :-)
