Eric,

I got out my 3CCE589ET and installed the 3c589.pkg. Tested the card with
NCU and NetHopper ... worked fine.
    What I have installed:
    NIE 2.0 (which consists of)
        Newton Internet Enabler.pkg
        NIE Modem-Serial Support.pkg
        InternetSetup.pkg
        ISP Template.pkg

    NIE Extras (which consists of)
        Newton Devices.pkg
        NIE Ethernet Support.pkg

    Farallon Support
        FarallonEthernet.pkg

3Com patch for the Farallon driver
        3c589.pkg

Some of those aren't absolutely required for ethernet but that's what's
on my Newt and it works.
Make sure your internet setup has all the correct numbers, passwords and
usernames in it and you should have not a problem.

Peter
