FYI, I have the ORiNOCO Silver from Lucent/Agere/Whatever and I did use it
yesterday night and never had any problem going to any site.

My ABS doesn't distribute any addresses, it just acts as a pass-through, an=
d
my Linksys Etherfast Cable/DSL modem just acts as a gateway between the ABS
and the internet. I use manual configuration, so I'm not using DHCP. I did
enter my ISP (Verizon) DNS servers and didn't have any problem so far. I
also tried connecting to my B&W G4 running Mac OS X 10.2.1 with NCU within
Classic and got connected at my first try.

As a test, you might want to use a manual configuration and see if that
works. Remember that if you try that, you will need the IP addresses of you=
r
ISP's DNS servers, or you won't get very far...

dangling pointer n.: [common] A reference that doesn't actually lead
anywhere (in C and some other languages, a pointer that doesn't actually
point at anything valid). Usually this happens because it formerly pointed
to something that has moved or disappeared. Used as jargon in a
generalization of its techspeak meaning; for example, a local phone number
for a person who has since moved to the other coast is a dangling pointer.
