After having purchased a newer Newton from J&K Sales I'm now trying to move
everything over and in the process I've run into one odd problem that others
may be able to help me with.
I had my earlier Newton accessing the internet through the office server. I
had this functioning with both WiFi and Ethernet. Now with the new machine I
can get on line to the internet but I have to jump through a few hoops
first.
If I use NewtsCape I have no difficulties other then speed. But if I try to
use NetHopper I receive an error (-61001). I also receive the same error is
I try to retrieve mail with Enroute.
Now, oddly, to get around this, if I first launch NewtsCape let it open up
access then launch either NewtHopper or Enroute then I have access without
the error code.
Would anyone have any ideas on what is happening here and why I need
NewtScape to bore into the internet giving the other programmes access? And,
more importantly, any ways to correct this?
I'd rather not use NewtsCape. Although I recognize its superior features it
seems too slow for me.
Lastly, I'd like to revive my copy of WebExpress to use with NetHopper, but
I can not find my registration code. I am paid up, and was an early
supported of this programme back when I purchased my Newton. I've tried to
contact WebExpress at <www-pentekk.com> but that address doesn't get me very
far. Any ideas?
Glen
