Coverage wouldn't be a problem, I can cover the whole world from my
living
room ;-)
You are right though insofar that if we have more hubs people can save
on shipping and get the cards faster.

Good! There are one or two addresses I'd like to pass on to your heavies
right now...

refunding
> credit card payments (for other hubs too).

My suggestion would be that for all "hubs" who do not have such an
account
we'll simply take mine. I can accept credit card payments. We will
certainly
be able to work something out every time.

> Other options are a trust system (receive the card on trust, and
> return it with 5 euros or dollars to cover postage),

I'd have no problem doing this with list members, but I'm a bit unsure
about
doing this with anybody who found this web page through Google two
seconds ago
and whom nobody knows.

> or cash deposit (send 10 dollars to receive the card, and receive a
card;
> get 5 back).

This would either be very expensive if done internationally, or very
slow.

> The 2 euros remaining after postage should be used to fund new
cards/hubs.

That would have to be discussed. I'd rather keep this a non-profit
project,
although new hubs are of course a good thing if we don't have any
in a particular area.

> For many reasons, we should use the smallest cards practical (1MB or 2
MB,
> or less).

You are right. People would be less tempted to simply keep it. But if we

make the payment/refund ratio honest enough, people would lose about as
much money as such a card would have cost in the first place.

> Maybe someone with contacts can organize a bulk purchase of 5-6 cards.

Since some have already expressed that they'd be willing to donate a
card,
this might not even be necessary.

Cheers
