I found on flipcode.com at http://www.flipcode.com/tutorials.shtml a
tutorial on implementing a scripting language, and while it's orientated
towards games developers looking to add a scripting engine to thier
games, it does introduce the basics of writing a compiler for a bytecode
interpreted language (lex/flex, yacc/bison etc)
