Actually, having worked on thousands of macs myself, this symptom
wouldn't normally indicate a battery issue, so it's not as dumb as it
seems. Apple built them right, so as technicians we are used to seeing
the clock set back to 1956 or 1904 when the battery is dead. Macs
start up with a dead battery as I previously stated with the exception
of a very few models.
