This sounds exactly like what I was hoping to do! Cool. :-)
I didn't realise the mounting and unmounting could be managed, so I
ended up not going for an ATA PC Card eBay auction in preference for
a 32MB linear flash one instead. Unfortunately, I got sniped at the
last second. Ah well.
I think I'll look out for another ATA offer, as being able to mount
different partitions would be a great ability.

BTW, I noticed a KnowledgeNavigator eBay auction offering a "Newton
2000/2100 16mb Linear Flash Card". There's a picture of an Apple as
the main product photo, and the description starts with "Apple Newton
Messagepad 16 MB Linear Flash Memory Card". However, on examination
it turns out that the card is a standard Centennial device.
In other auctions this seller has advertised an "Apple Newton solar
charger" which is not Apple or Newton, and seems to have couched the
auction in a moderately misleading way.
I contacted this seller about this particular issue before, and he
replied that he would "take my information to heart". But, having
seen an identical auction just now, I have to say it seems that was a
load of b.......!
Is there no regulation against 'passing off' on eBay? Surely this
skates close to the mark!
