Preorder. And the section that promised new things "coming soon" shows a
date of April 2005. This is not building my confidence.

According to what the web page shows, no. There's none of those
capacities. You get roughly the same software as your Newt comes with
after a brain wipe. Minus the handwriting recognition, of course.
