I think you maybe want to read this thread on Mobileread.com. In it Sony
answers questions re: their reader.

It appears that the Sony _will_ support pdf, as well as many other formats.
So, it looks like pdf is in, but annotations are out. But in any case, this
thread is very interesting as Sony is seriously answering questions, and
seems to be very serious about making this thing work.

There is a lot of new stuff coming out in this field, and I can't help but
wonder if it will all be a big flop, or a success.... :-) Time will tell.
