Sounds like database corruption. There's a magic key to rebuild your
database index; I think you hold down the OPTION key immediately after
d-clicking the Emailer icon. But check Emailer's help (seach for
"rebuild", I think) to be sure of the key.
Make sure to back up your mail database and index files first though,
just in case.
