Memory Cards, In or Out?Flash uses a very minimal amount of current when just reading/not being accesed. It is only writing that uses a fair current draw. Flash has unlimited (for all intents and purposes) reads and limited writes. Leaving your card in all the time should cause no detrimental effects to the card or your Newton IMHO.

Subject: NTLK Memory Cards, In or Out?
Just received my 6MB Intel flash card from Paul Braham (thanks Paul!) and am wondering. Prior to this, I have used a Pretec 8MB card for storage, backups, etc. -- and I always left it in the MP2K. On or off, use or no use, I left the card in.
It occurred to me as I was putting in the new card that this "always on" usage might not be good for the MP or the card. Any advice? Am I risking destruction of data, memory, or hardware?
Suddenly worried,
