Does anybody know about a driver for Macintosh PowerBooks that works with
the D-Link DE-660? I got one such card (a new unit, still much cheaper than
the 3com 589) essentially for usage with the Newton 2100. It works very
nice in a PC NoteBook too (Olivetti Xtrema 426), but it would be even nicer
to use it in a Mac PowerBook as well.
And yes, the DE-660's dongle (combo connector for BNC and RJ-45) is really
clunky. Still worse, it is going to be situated exactly where one wants to
put their right hand when using the Newton. This is one of the rare
occasions where left-handed people have an advantage...
I am looking for a replacement ethernet cable that is a little bit longer
and thinner (like the one that came with the Farallon EtherMac 895/595
cards), just for RJ-45 connections. I will keep you informed when I have
found one.
Best Newt regards,
Walter.
