ok sorry i couldn't reply earlier. after i first posted i found the
eMate service manual.
in the end, the eMate liked to boot without my expansion RAM. i left
it for a few hours. put the 6megs back in. the eMate booted fine with
it. but the OS went screwy, corrupt System etc.
so far, i have wiped the internal mem with a deep reset, and i have
yet to play with it since.
does this mean my 6megs might be buggered? or just a weird electrical hiccup?
either way. ill post again if it dies on me once more.
