This is just a guess, but it could be the same problem I experienced.
The "dock" key on the keyboard does not activate the standard "dock"
program, but the classroom dock. To use the standard dock program,
you have to tap the dock icon with the stylus. It solved my problem,
the eMate was looking for my Mac forever, too...
