Normally I wouldn't respond to drivel such as this, but in this case,
I'll make an exception since it was directed towards me.
Up front, to eliminate any confusion, yes we all know that it is the
Newton List.
That's why we joined! Get it! ;-)
Sure we want to discuss Newton related topics and do for the most part.
Then again, at times there are other non related OT topics, which it
appears some of the others enjoy reading as well. As i said before,
there is the delete key...

Uh, Robert, why do you make it so difficult for yourself?
Man, just sort by topic.
Then delete the thread that you don't want to read.
Simple. Piece of cake. Clear blue and 22...
The OT thing is nice, and folks are beginning to use it, which makes it
easier.
However, with most threads reading the first message tells you what the
thread is about. Why do you believe that you must read all messages
posted to this board?
Anyhow, most threads are self explanitory without even opening up one
message. Ones like, "iPod" or "Platform Crap" are easy.
Granted it gets a little frustrating when there are many OT messages.
But sometimes an OT thread is interesting and fun to read.
Here's a question for you. What if a person doesn't want to read about
NTK -- which is definitely a Newton related thread? In my case, I have
26 messages waiting to be read. Will I read them? Who knows? But if I
don't want to, it would take me say less than 30 seconds to delete them
all -- no big deal.

See above. Other than wasting a little bandwidth downloading them,
what's the big deal?!

Yes, and the war will go on for a long time.
Are you in it for the long haul?
If so, the topic is bound to come up once or twice in the future! ;-)

Sure it would be nice if all topics were exactly on target about the
Newt, and Paul's ATA driver and Laurent's wireless driver were completed
(no ding on either Paul or Lareant -- please take all the time you need),
and the WTC were still standing.
Again, no one is requiring you to read these messages. If you don't like
them, why do you read them?
Please use the delete key, already! :-(

Huh?

And your point is?
>so don't give me this "Do what you must" crap.
Robert, if you are going to quote me, at least get it right:
I wrote, "But do what you gotta do."
You'll also note, that right before I wrote that, I wrote, "Don't want to
see you go."
And I meant it.
Again whether or not you decide to leave this board, that's your decision
-- just like everyone else on this board.
>So do what you must and maybe swallow your ego every now and than.
Ego?
Where the heck does that come from?
You know, a look into a mirror might be more revealing than you wish...
Sushi
P.S. To the rest of the members, sorry for the wasted bandwidth.
