There have been nasty cases in Montreal that I'm aware of where debit cards
were duplicated with a scan through a second machine, then accounts emptied
in a day at the local casino, where the $500/day limit apparently doesn't
apply, go figure. AFAIK people didn't get their money back, banks being
banks, being quite powerful and hard to take on. I'm much more wary using
my debit card than my credit card for that reason.
