I usually use my 2100 mostly as a mini-laptop, as you do, and I
rarely have lockups etc unless I'm trying to browse pages with huge
tables or HTML that the Newt just can't handle. I guess mostly I use
it for email, address/scheduler, then occasional light browsing, in
that order.
I have many many packages installed on a 32 and 20 meg card. Do you
keep packages you are not using frozen? This is crucial to avoid the
'61 error in my experience.
I have an rather large number of interface shortcuts installed, NIE
and similar always active, but everything else stays frozen until
needed. There are several utils that will thaw an app when it's
tapped, then freeze it when you quit, so it's pretty painless to
store everything like this- no extra clicks or menus or anything.
If you do keep everything frozen, are you using Avi's backdrop or
similar to free up as much heap as possible? (freezing apps also
frees up lots of heap, too, another reason to o it). With all the
stuff I keep loaded, I still have 359 heap free per Avi's backdrop;
this seems to be a very functional amount to keep available.
It "should" be pretty stable. What apps do you use most? Some apps
are known buggy, either innately, or in combination with others (esp.
some interface enhancements).
