Hi,
I usually compose strange notes - mixtures of text and sketches.
Sometimes I'd like to have some of them as graphics files on my
desktop. (Also I don't quite trust Notes. It's so easy to accidentially
delete the wrong file.)
Unfortunately, Notes is ill-equppied to export that kind of thing to my
desktop. It'll always separate text and graphics, even though I'd like
a WYSIWYG copy of what's on screen.
I can't use screen shorts, because the notes are often longer than one
page, I don't want to fax them to my desktop, because it'd be a) too
expensive - there are charges for local calls in Germany - and b) too
impractical, there must be a better way.
I think I have 2 options here: Either an enhancement or replacement for
notes that'll give me better export options. (Save as GIF, e.g.) Or a
way to use my OS X box as a network "printer" that'll actually print to
a file.
As for no. 1: Does anyone have suggestions on which app I could use for
that?
As for no. 2: I've found out how to set up a virtual printer on OS X
(searchin for "virtual printer" in OS X help brings up the
instructions), but even though I have printer sharing turned on, my
Newton can't seem to see my OS X "printer". (It's a WLAN AppleTalk
connection that otherwise works, I can use NCU without a hitch.) Does
anyone have any tips on how to get this working?
Thanks for any responses.
Jens
