It is not as bad as all that. There is a semantics problem in this
discussion between usb->serial and serial->usb adapters. (I don't get
it either - should be left to right = right to left, but who knows.)
In fact, running Classic on a newer usb Mac with Newton Connection
Utilities (or Newtsync if you do it in X) with a usb-> serial adapter
(at least a variety of them - mine is a Micro Computer and most
Keyspans work fine) , a cable and a dongle works just fine. And you
should ask the list about your ethernet card. Some work. Some don't.
Mine, a 3Comm Etherlink III, works fine. And tell the list you are a
newbie and want to be walked through hooking up through the card.
