The behavior you describe sounds like what happens on my unit when I pull
the battery out. I usually have to hit the reset button to get it to boot
again. Is your battery tray properly inserted and seated? Is it possible
that it has a problem with the contacts? This is the first place Iwould
look. If that doesn't work, do a backup, and then a brain wipe, and see if
that corrects the problem. If so, then I would do a system info restore, and
see if the problem remains gone. If so, then you can probably start
reinstalling other software until you find one that causes the problem.
However, I would start with the hardware first. (Try shaking it vigorously
to see if that affects it?) :-)
