Vodafone charges GPRS by kilobyte in Germany. Almost EUR 3 per 100kb,
close to open robbery if you ask me. I do no surfing at all with my
P800. Not after the first bill.

Some more cleverness on the P800 would be a good thing, no doubt. I
sometimes think the thing to be brick-stupid, no birthday reminders,
ah, what am I saying, you cannot even address a birthday to a person,
you have to make it an event, strange on-screen keyboard... I really
like the integration of contacts with SMS & eMail though, it is
really easy, also to check multiple accounts. The phone is miles away
from being a Newton replacement though (and I do not want it to be),
and the only reason why I do not keep on organising contacts and
dates with the Newt is that my Newt<->OSX syncing is flaky at best,
and it creates too much hassle.

Siemens has some models with this ability, IIRC, but I would never
ever buy a Siemens phone again. They just have no clue about UIs,
IMHO.

They would have done it a good deal better, I am sure. They would
habe used less cheesy plastic, ot even aluminum, made the phone less
buldgy, and the interface would be sleek, and not be stuck with these
WinCE-like color sets.

We've really grown to dislike seeing the words "Microsoft" and
"settlement" in the same sentence "..." it's pretty much always
something like Microsoft getting away with a slap on the wrist for
having stabbed an assortment of nuns and babies. (Not literally, of
course. Yet. We think.)
