The leather case that I have acquired through eBay is made by Hussman. The
Newton 2100 fits snugly into a pouch with the leather cut out the size of
the screen. On the right side is a Velcro flap which opens to allow access
to the card slots. The top of the case (where the Newton slides into) is
also Velcro attached and when opened access to the whole top of the Newton
is possible. There is a hole for the speaker in the top right corner and a
slot for the microphone on the bottom left corner. There is a flap that
hinges on the left side that covers the full front of the Newton and is
secured by a strap and snap. On the back of the pouch there is a 2" wide
elastic strap attached at the top and bottom which is the part that I have
grown to enjoy. I slide my hand through this and don't have to grasp the
Newton to take my notes (most of my note taking is done in the field while
walking around). Attached to the top of the back is a button to be able to
clip it into a quick release cell phone type hanger/belt clip. It did not
come with the belt clip, but I found a large one which I have to modify to
accept it so that I can attach it to my belt.
The downsides (and possible the upside for me) of this case is that there is
no room for anything else (extra cards, and external stylus, etc. But this
is what is saving me so that I can carry it with me and take field notes
without having to unpack anything and or items falling out.
I am in the Construction world, and this case has been protecting my
Newton quite well.
