Hi Robert,
there's really no difference between a serial (RS422) and a LocalTalk
cable; any Apple printer cable will do.
This is taking the term "LocalTalk" a bit loosely, though, as, strictly
speaking, a LocalTalk cable is a cable connecting two LocalTalk adaptors,
which is something completely different. But then, LocalTalk adaptors
have vanished from the market ages ago. PhoneNet (or compatible) adapters
are found much more often, and use standard phone wiring with RJ11 plugs.
Anyway, you don't need PhnoNet adaptors for connecting just two devices,
and a standard printer cable with MiniDIN-8 plugs at either end is all
you need.
