mechanical cutoff needs additional contacts for each channel which short
to channel signal when no plug is inserted. signalled cutoff only needs
one additional contact, which (IIRC) shorts to sleeve ground when a plug
*is* inserted. Don't make me haul out ASCII diagrams....
Both of you are arguing the same point; you're both just getting confused
because Andrei's presuming that the application requires a jack
with cutoff, and you're looking for a specification of that assumption
and saying he's wrong when it's left unstated.
So can we drop this part now?
