to add to the ongoing saga or the poor rex(i have had all the models
and still use my 6000 but the earlier models with truesync were muche
better) after Rolodex Xircom bought Rex and they still knew what they
were doing, i think xircom had it up until the rex 5000, Then Intel
bought it and added the much wanted touch screen, but at the same time
abandoned truesync and changed the memory to Flash, the change to flash
memory was good in one respect because if your batteries(which last
about 6 months) went dead you would not loose your info, this change
made the rex much slower and also the sync , the change was also not
necessary in my opinion because the rex had 2 batteries and if you
changed one at a time there was no data loss and also it was designed
to be plugged in to your computer each night to sync, up until the rex
5 there was no way for you to enter anything on the rex when you were
on the go, in the 5 they added support that you could enter via the
hardware buttons and as stated before with the 6 you could enter it
with the touch screen. Anyway Intel killed rex :( it was and still is
a great little pda the size of a credit card if they started making
them again i'd buy ten to hoard away, now if someone would make one
with one of the new oled screens we would be set.
