IMO whether you like it or not Outlook is the industry default and most other
PIM apps will allow imports and exports to that app. So I reckon Outlook is the
way. Any semi proprietary file format even in CSV would be painful as another
layer of translation is still required.

It should be able to truly sync names, dates and to-dos with it magically
working out which fields were last changed and updating accordingly. Can it be
done via Blunt?

I'm with Victor though, without a practical sync'ing app I've just kept
everything on the Newt. However its a (minor) pain having two sets of email
address databases.
