Would have been better if they'd gotten a few things right.

Like the networking capabilities.

We've got IR, Serial, Modem, Ethernet, 802.11, bluetooth.

About all we're missing is fire wire and USB.

I got my 2100 in Feb 1997 - shortly before they were discontinued. Paid
$1,500 Canadian for it. Was a graduation gift to myself - It was that or a
power mac 7100, both of which were comparable in price at the time. Boy did
I make the right decision.

It's gotten a pile of use. No Jaggies, no issues, and when my wife dropped
it the first week, it got it's first scar - a dent in one corner, but kept
on going. (she had it on her lap in the car, and forgot about it when she
got out - bang onto pavement)

The handwriting recognition, battery life, and the fact that the thing
doesn't lose everything when the batteries do die (unlike the palm pilot I
have via work) just rocks.

And now that I've got an EZ VGA card, I can even use it when I'm teaching,
since I've converted my PPT slides to display on it.
