[NTLK] NCX: problems connecting via Ethernet

Hi folks!

Today I tried Simon's NCX to transfer a couple of small RTF files
from my TiBook to my 2100. For the first time, I tried an Ethernet
connection instead of a Serial one.

Problem: after trying to negotiate a connection with the TiBook, the
Newton gives me an error: "Problem connecting. DHCP server
unavailable or unable to configure this device."

My setup: on the MP2100 I have downloaded the InternetDock module
bundled with NCX. In the Extensions folder I seemingly have all
that's required for an ethernet connection: Newton Devices, NIE
Ethernet module, Newton Internet Enabler, Farallon Enet, 3C589 (the
driver for my Megahertz 589E card), Internet Dock.
On the TiBook, NCX is correctly installed. I have Mac OS X 10.4.8. In
the Network preference pane, the Ethernet interface is set up to use
DHCP and AppleTalk is enabled. AppleTalk is also enabled on the
Newton -- it's specified to be used by the Megahertz Ethernet Card.

I tap on Dock, then on Connect via: Internet, then on Connect to:
Other computer. The MP2100 starts looking for a Mac OS computer, a
Connection dialog box appears with a progress bar. It arrives at
approx. 60%: "Connecting to the Internet...", it hangs for a while,
then the error message appears.

So far, I've tried to connect with and without AppleTalk activated.
I've tested the Ethernet cable and it's working. The Mac OS X
firewall is Off.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.
Rick
