If I didn't know better I'd say you were a lost twin or were reading my
notes.
I too have searched and the PanaVise was a great solution though TOO costly.
My docking sled prototype was base on the idea of using something similar to
that to hold & articulate the position of the Newton Docked to the Sled on
the desktop but there really is no cheap or reasonably priced option... One
possibility is to use a Heavy Duty Camera Head Unit as my Sled is prepped
like a camera for the use of a tri-pod mount.
If you find a good reasonably priced source for this count me in...
For now I'm still in search of a Bogen Camera Tripod Head Unit of the Heavy
Duty variety...
