If we're talking Mazda and hatches, let me put in a word for the Mazda 5.
Yes, it's sort of a van, but what a lovely van it is. Tons of room, and it
drives like a car -- you can get it with a 5 speed. Possibly the best
roadtrip vehicle I've ever owned.
