Hi gentlemen,
Reading through Simon Bell’s manual, he details how to select a different port in Mail V:
“Against Mail server enter your IMAP mail server’s name. If you need to specify a port number other than IMAP’s usual 143, append a colon and the number to the server name; for example:
mail.walthrop.net:1143”
I tried it with port mail.newtoncity.org:587 and newtoncity.org:587 and I received the same error. My worry is it has something to do with how the password is sent.

En lisant le document PDF préparé par Simon Bell j’ai lu:
“Against Mail server enter your IMAP mail server’s name. If you need to specify a port number other than IMAP’s usual 143, append a colon and the number to the server name; for example:
mail.walthrop.net:1143”
Mais j’ai essayé avec mail.newtoncity.org:587 et newtoncity.org:587 et j’ai reçu le même erreur. J’ai peur que le problème peut être concerné le méthode de transmettre de mot de passe.

>> The reason why we can't send mail via the smpt.newtoncity.org service is because on Newton we can only use port 25 (smpt.newtoncity.org:25) which is unencrypted (Newtons don't support ssl or tsl). By default port 25 is disabled in Citadel for security reasons, to prevent the service from being bombarded by spiders. As a result the smtp service rejects us when we try to send an email. On our Mac/PC or even on our smartphones this is not a problem because it communicates on port 587 which is active on Citadel.

I found a product called MailServe for Mac users that is supposed to make things a bit easier (£30 with no trial period and you have to re-purchase with every OS update! Good reviews for customer service though). Has anyone here tried it? https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/21572/mailserve
