Noah, it's useless to try port 587, it won't work on Newton since this port is default on all smtp servers encrypted with SSL/TSL and SSL/TSL still doesn't exist on Newton.

I just discovered (well, I had forgotten) that here at home my provider (Orange) blocks from my box all access by port 25 (except for its own smtp)! Which doesn't help our connection problem to NewtonCity !
I just realized it when I wanted to connect to the NewtonCity smtp server via Telnet, my box blocks the communication!
So I tried via my iPhone, by sharing its 4G connection to my MacPro (so I wouldn't be connected to my Orange Internet box). And that's it!
When I connect to Newtoncity's smtp via Telnet outside of my Internet Box, I can connect to the telnet!

Now it's really very late, I'm going to bed, but tomorrow I'll try to connect a Newton in Wifi via the iPhone 4G connection sharing, yes I know I like to complicate things ! :-)
All I can already tell you is that with Telnet on my Mac, I managed to send an email by port 25 via smtp.newtoncity.org. There's just a trick to get there, I'll try it tomorrow from the Newtons to see if it works with MailV.
I'll let you know the result of my investigations.

Noah, Cela ne sert à rien d'essayer le port 587 cela ne fonctionnera pas sur les Newton puisque ce port est part défaut, sur tout les serveur smtp crypté en SSL et le SSL n'existe toujours pas sur Newton.

Je viens de découvrir (enfin je l'avais oublié) que ici chez moi mon provider (donc Orange) bloque à partir de ma box tous les accès via le port 25 (sauf pour son propre smtp) ! Ce qui n'arrange pas notre problème de connexion à NewtonCity !
Je viens de m'en rendre compte en voulant me connecter au serveur smtp Newtoncity via Telnet, ma box bloque la communication !
Du coup j'ai essayé via mon iPhone, en partageant sa connexion 4G à mon MacPro (pour ne pas être connecté à ma box Internet Orange). Et voilà !
Quand je me connecte en Telnet sur le smtp de Newtoncity en dehors de ma Box Internet j'arrive à me connecter en telnet ! Donc pas avec ma Box Internet, qui bloque le l'accès aux ports 25 !

Là il est vraiment très tard, je vais aller me coucher, mais demain je tenterais de connecter un Newton en Wifi via le partage de connexion 4G du iPhone (oui je sais j'aime bien compliquer les choses ! :-)
Tout ce que je peux déjà vous dire, c'est qu'en Telnet sur mon Mac, j'ai réussi à envoyer un mail via le port 25 via smtp.newtoncity.org. Il y a juste une astuce pour y arriver, j'essayerais demain à partir des Newton pour voir si cela fonctionne avec MailV.
Je vous tiendrais au courant du résultat de mes investigations.
