Hi there,
Ok. I am going to propose a crazy idea. I really love the Newt, but I am
finding some of its limitations to be a little hard to handle. As an
example, if I need to give somebody my FAX number, for some reason itıs not
stored in the Newt, but it is stored in my iPod. The problem certainly is
not horrible, but sometimes I feel like I have to carry around 2 sets of my
contacts.
So, this got me thinking. What would make the Newt better than current
generation PDAıs? Itıs better in so many ways, that with a couple of
additions, it could kick every other PDAıs butt.
I am thinking that we need a new version of the OS. There has been a
non-Apple created update, which implies that the source is floating around
somewhere.
First off, if there were a new version of the Newt OS, it would have to
support the vCard format. This would make synchronization between the new
iApps a snap. There wouldnıt even have to be any translation. Just dump
the vCards to the Newt, and let the Newt OS handle it.
Also, I would love to see wireless support built in. Right now itıs a huge
pain to get wireless working.
Lastly, would it be possible to get Bluetooth support in a new OS? That
would save a lot of time and money getting the cables needed to hook up to
the new iMacs.
Oh yeah, I would love to see NCU made OSX native, but I think thatıs another
thread :)
What do you guys think? How feasible is this?
Thanks,
Robert--
