Actually - the first round of usb keyboards from apple sported a power
button - IIRC this was NOT fully compliant with the usb standard - and
thus removed from later revisions. I'm not sure if you can even use
this keyoard's power button to boot up the newest macs.

The same with the ;soft power' buttons sported by every mac since
before the iMac, and pretty much every pc these days - unless the only
on / off mechanism is a cutoff switch like on old AT power supplies,
SOME part of the power supply is active.

Persons REALLY concerned with power consumption or HD / Fan bearing
wear... that's all I can think of.
