The programme Autocontrast can produce these effects, even when deleted.

As regards the hard reset screen, tapping the dialog buttons seems to
require
more pressure/duration than usual, but should work.
BTW, the hard reset screen does not have a higher contrast,
it is just a dark pattern, thats all.
