Dear David,

I'm afraid some people are of mixed minds - is there truly a demand for a
ROM board (i.e. storage, as in a desktop's harddisk), or did many people
understand you as asking about RAM upgrades (as in, "more memory = more
heap", like a desktop's RAM)?
I think the usefulness of more storage will not be debated, but in the
age of Paul's ATA Support and comparatively inexpensive Flash cards (e.g.
28 MB for under US$ 30,--), storage is not as precious and hard to come by
as more memory (read heap) would be. There is no way to increase this now,
is there?

I reckon there's a flaw in my thinking or possibly a misunderstanding all
during the last days' discussions. Anyhow, I'm a bit confused, as I'm not
sure what you intend to offer - storage or memory, "HD" or "RAM", and I
don't think most people who voted for the upgrade weren't sure about this,
either. - My personal opinion is, that if there's a upgrade in the chip
department, more memory (heap) would be significantly more valuable than
more storage ("HD"), unless the storage offered something not readily
obtainable in any other way (e.g. by using storage cards).

- I thought about posting above at NTLK, but figured it might be considered
as an especially daft and uneducated attempt to bust everbody's party, so I
took the liberty to mail you directly to avoid any misunderstanding. Maybe
you can clarify this thing for me a bit.

Finest regards from Germany,

DJV.
