Sorry I am coming late to this party.

I use a Lucent Silver and a Time Capsule. Previously I used an Airport
Extreme Base Station. I use Leopard. The Newt is an MP2100.

A few differences: most importantly, I don't use any encryption now.
On the AEBS I did use 128 bit WEP. I also used a string password
rather than hex with no problems.

Are you able to get a connection without encryption? (Sorry if this was
covered previously.)
